Blog Challenge #23: Why Do You Blog About WoW? PLUS Bonus Transmog

The next challenge from Z and Cinder asks me to answer the question “Why DO you blog about WoW, Bmatt?”

Uh…well that’s easy, ladies. You asked me to.

Well, okay, maybe not me directly, but you did lay down the topics and ask anyone interested to write about them!

Blogging about something is challenging for me on my own, because I struggle to come up with topics that I think others will be interested in reading. I know, I should write what I find interesting and others will doubtless come if it’s well written, but that’s my brain for you. It’s my own worst enemy sometimes.

But with Z, Cinder, and the other readers providing the topics, obviously it’s something they care about, so I don’t have to worry about that as much!

So there you go, fellow challenge participants. Your Quest Log Is Full exists because of you. Thanks!

Since this was a shorter one, I’m going to share a few new transmogs I picked up because I’m not a smart man. You’re all doubtless familiar with the Warden’s Tower World Quests, which sometimes reward Marks of Honor. If you didn’t know, these Marks allow you to purchase older PvP gear sets for Transmog purposes. The PvP vendors sell you an item for 12 Marks that adds the full set to your wardrobe, a far cheaper option than purchasing the individual pieces (which totals 17 I believe).

I never really bothered with these WQs because they generally only reward 4-5 Marks, not enough to buy a full set outright, and I didn’t want to start collecting them and not be able to use them right away (cause I’m impatient like that)

Last night, however, I did the one in Val’sharah on my shaman, Durnnit, because it was conveniently near the other WQs I was doing to complete the emissary quest. And I noticed something I had completely forgotten.

Marks of Honor are Bind-To-Account.

So if I did the WQ on three different characters, I’d end up with 12 Marks, enough for a PvP transmog set for one character. And I have 6 110s at the moment, so that’s 2 sets for not much work!

This was game-changing, as you can imagine. I spent quite a bit of time going through each of my characters and making a list of all of the PvP sets I wanted to acquire because suddenly, it was no longer difficult or time consuming to pull off! This lead to me revamping my Class-mount-tracking spreadsheet into a “Legion goal spreadsheet” (Yes I like spreadsheets, whaddya want from me), complete with these sets included.

And here’s the two I started with. On the left is my shaman, wearing the Tyrannical Gladiator’s set from MoP. On the right is my druid, sporting the Legion Season 1 set, a recolor of the Tier set from the Nighthold.

 

Something like a strange, corrupted tree thing going on, maybe?

I don’t know what it is about this set I love so much, it just looks mysterious and arcane.

 

Here’s the set my wife acquired on her own druid, from Warlords of Draenor’s third PvP season.

Next up on the acquisition list will be a friggin amazing red regal looking set for my Death Knight and a truly scary one for my Rogue. Can’t wait.

EDIT: Another WQ came up rewarding some Marks of Honor, so I got the DK and Rogue mogs as well! Here they are!

I like to call this one the “Red Highlord” set

Seriously, I’m not sure what this is supposed to evoke, but it’s awesomely terrifying
