Z and Cinder are curious how I find the time to play WoW with all the real life stuff to do?
Well, I’ll tell you, it’s not easy. I’m a father of two now, and those kiddos need a lot of time with daddy (and mommy too of course). Not to mention spending time with the wife herself is also an important thing. We do play together occasionally, and we’re both in the same raid team, so that does help. And my wife does recognize that gaming is one of the things I’m passionate about, so sometimes she’ll banish me to my office to game, especially if she knows I’ve had a hard day and need time to recharge (I’m an introvert so being alone is how I regain energy/sanity).
Aside from that, I try to set aside time to play when the kids are napping or asleep for the night, and balance that with things that need done around the house or needing to catch up on the TV shows my wife and I both enjoy. It ends up being not nearly as much time as I was able to play before we had children, much less way back in college, but so far it’s been enough that I feel satisfied with it.
I also am a big listmaker, so I have a large excel spreadsheet of all the things I want to do across my various characters in the current expansion, so i know what I need to focus on when I do get some time to play.
So that’s pretty much how I find the time, and how I maximize it when I do get it. Hope you all liked it, and see ya in the next one!
